"True, there have been those in times past who predicted an "end to the world," even announcing a specific date...Yet nothing happened. The "end" did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying."

  1. LOL! The funniest thing on that page is the date of publication - 1968.

    In 1968 WTBTS wrote:

"Some have gathered groups of people with them [How is that any different from Jehovah's Witnesses?]...waiting for the end. YET NOTHING HAPPENED. THE END DID NOT COME. They were GUILTY OF FALSE PROPHESYING."

    So my question is:

Exactly how many years does it take for a statement to qualify as a "false prophesy"? Wouldn't 52 years qualify?

The article goes on to say:

"Missing from such people were God's truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them."

Where is the "evidence" that Jehovah was "guiding and using" the Watchtower/Jehovah's Witnesses in these statements? What else are they preaching that is false? How can we trust their claim to be "Jehovah's only channel of communication" when they are proved - by their own words - to be false prophets?

And that is the purpose of this blog, the challenge Jehovah's Witnesses on the claim of the Governing Body that they alone have the "true religion" and that they speak for God.

The burden of proof is on the Witnesses to supply the evidence that they alone have "the truth".
